Spain midfielder Isco said Wednesday night that he was satisfied with the team’s position in Group B after their two World Cup games, noting that Spain had a good chance of reaching the round of 16.
Spain secured a narrow 1-0 win over Iran on Wednesday in Kazan, which together with the 3-3 draw with Portugal, gives them four points from two games and means they are level with their Iberian neighbors at the top of Group B.
“I am satisfied with our position in the group. We have four points, our chances are not bad. It was a difficult match, but the main thing is we won. I like this Spanish team and I feel great,” Isco told reporters after the game.
Spain will play Morocco in their third group stage game in Kaliningrad on Monday, while Portugal and Iran will play in Saransk.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicked off on June 14 and will continue until July 15, with the matches set to be played in 11 cities across Russia.
