God speaks even now to His children. He speaks to guide, rebuke, edify and/or encourage them.
Many at times, when God gives promises through the word or prophecy, believers lazily under the guise of having living faith take no step but say (either verbally or attitudinally) "The Almighty is my Father and I am sure whatever He promises, He will do. Since He has spoken, I can now sleep"
As wonderful as that statement or notion could be, it is not totally correct for every promises of God comes with instructions [either equivocally or unequivocally]
Promises come to pass, not only because God spoke but also because men take steps; steps of faith and obedience.
*God designs the destiny of a man, but the man has to construct his destiny in obedience*
In 1Sam.9:15 &16 we see the promise of God to Israel for which king Saul was crowned. But because he (Saul) didn't walk in obedience, 1Sam 31:1-9 tell us how the promise carrier was defeated by those he was crowned and meant to defeat.
O comrade, has God spoken to you concerning your beautiful future? Did He tell you how great He has designed your future to be? Go beyond merely making positive confessions or saying words of affirmation to living in obedience.
In obedience lies your fulfilment.
Live in obedience to God's directives and all of God's promises for you will come to pass.
